Margin is a task and priority app operated by Emagine Reality("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@emaginereality.com.
Account. Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. We use a password you set or your Google sign-in; we never see your Google password.
Your content. The tasks, ideas, notes, projects, due dates, and any attachments or images you add. This is your data; it exists so the app can work for you.
Usage. Basic activity needed to run and improve the service, such as when items are completed, used to size your day and generate your recap.
Billing. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and renewal dates. We never receive or store your full card number.
To provide the service: to store and rank your list, size your day, generate recaps, power the in-app assistant, send you account and service email, and process subscriptions. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show you third-party ads.
Some features send your relevant content to AI model providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate rankings, suggestions, and assistant replies. These providers process that content to return a result and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models. You can also connect your own AI assistant through Margin's optional MCP door; when you do, that assistant acts on your behalf under your own account with that provider.
Margin never connects to your calendar and never holds calendar credentials. If you use calendar-aware sizing, your own AI assistant reads your calendar and reports only the number of open minutes to Margin. We never see your events.
We share data only with the processors that run the service: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Vercel (application hosting), Stripe (payments), our email provider (transactional email), and the AI providers above. Each processes data on our behalf to deliver the product.
Data is encrypted in transit, and every account's data is isolated at the database level. We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your account and its data, including stored attachments.
You can access and edit your content in the app, delete your account and data from Settings, and email us to request a copy of your data or to ask questions about this policy. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.
Margin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
We may update this policy; we will change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
